Organic series lensed by Alfredo Cristinziano

Brought up in Montreal, Quebec, Alfredo loved movies from the beginning and that most likely made him to get a camera a few years back. He is one of those who started out digitally and went back to film. Alfredo attempted to touch various genres of photography, from landscape to weddings through shooting infants. When Alfredo was shooting digitally he was certainly missing something.

“I decided to get into the film game when I opened a door to something so authentic and fascinating. Being inspired by classic masters and by the likes of modern photographers like Ryan Muirhead and Jan Scholz, I pushed my style to where it is today by booking shoots and getting out there with an open mind without being afraid of trying different things. Shooting film is not only about the grain, the awesome colours, the beautiful b/w or the dynamic range, it’s about slowing down, thinking of your shot and making it count.

For lots of amateurs and photographers out there it’s always about the gear, the technology, the sharpness and the right now, of course there is gear talk with analog but I feel so relieved to not take part in the race to always get what’s the new thing in stores. You can do beautiful photos with a 30$ camera, you know. Some people are just missing out because they limit themselves with excuses and principals. Every once in a while I see someone following my work and picking up an old 35mm camera to give it a run…I must be doing something right.”
