“The series of images titled ‘Broken Moments’ started as an exploration into a scenario of which many of us are familiar with, that broken moment where we realise we are trapped; often by ourselves or our inner demons, whether this be a relationship, work or indeed just life in general. The last three years have probably been the most fundamentally changing I have experienced in my adult life, there has been tragedy, depression, despair, healing, happiness and joy, to name but a few! All of this journey has been recorded in these images.”
Marcus wanted to make the greater part of this series at the studio stage, photoshop was never a choice. Additionally Marcus had to consolidate painting into the pictures, a percentage of the shots have glass in them that Marcus invested months painting and idealizing to make a specific feeling he wanted to portray.
“I’m not sure when or even if this project will end. It has become such a personal journey and one that I have had the privilege to share with many people that have worked with me, sharing their broken moments.”
