Alexandra Reznik, a reminiscence of fashion illustration and more

When we came across Alexandra Reznik’s chic and elegant illustrations we were reminded of some of the first illustrated Vogue covers popular in 1920s and 1930s. Now nearly 100 years after we can easily imagine Alexandra’s voguish pieces replacing today’s covers of some of the greatest fashion publications. Alexandra is young and emerging artist based in Kaliningrad in Russia. Her initial inspiration was Serge Gainsbourg. “He really changed my life. It was a huge wave of endless inspiration I had after I watched Gainsbourg: Vie héroïque of Joann Sfar,” starts Alexandra describing her journey. “I am always in progress. I always desire to make new discoveries, I love to learn, I love to read, I am a cinema maniac, and I am permanently with my headphones,” continues Alexandra about her incredible sources of inspiration. When she looks at her first drawings she laughs but then she is proud to see the changes and her continuous progress. Her biggest passion lies in fashion drawings. However, fashion is not the only thing that fascinates her. She loves travelling and apart of her unimaginable love for Paris she has done some amazing road trip of her lifetime. In 2015 she spent 7 months travelling across Russia, which must have been an absolutely amazing experience. “I saw my large country. I saw so much,” adds Alexandra. Exclusively for Curieux, Alexandra draw some Helmut Newton inspired pieces that we love so much and we cannot wait to see more in the future.AR001 AR002 AR003
