These disturbing and serious photographs deliberately appear to be unplanned and signpost the photographers presence, as if they are from her personal library. The theme of self-harm and bulimia is apparent and the pictures are hard hitting. They lack warmth, despite the sun lit space. The tiled environment is sanitary – a ‘hose down’ room. Though the photos give the impression of being snap shots, they are anything but casual. Fantastic piece from Franziska Frings.
